OUR MISSION
Building a Texas that Welcomes All
The mission of Texas Competes is to provide a unified voice for the Texas business community on the economic benefits of a Texas where all people are treated equitably, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, or sex. That unified voice is expressed through the Texas Competes Pledge.
Business competitiveness extends beyond the workplace. It is also shaped by the reputation Texas earns as a place to build a career, grow a business, raise a family, and invest in the future. The Texas Competes Pledge provides business leaders with an opportunity to affirm their shared commitment to a competitive, economically vibrant Texas where LGBTQIA+ people can live, work, and thrive.
What Is Texas Competes?
Texas Competes (TXC) is a coalition of businesses and business organizations committed to preserving the strength of the Texas economy. Together, our members work to ensure Texas remains a place where organizations can attract talent, grow, and compete.
What Does Signing The Pledge Mean?
The most basic engagement with Texas Competes is signing the pledge and stating the business name on the TXC website. The TXC program provides ongoing education and engagement opportunities to pledge signers on relevant issues. There is no financial requirement to belong to the coalition.
Is Texas Competes a Political Program?
Texas Competes is not a grassroots or direct lobbying organization, and will not endorse or oppose any pending legislation. TXC does provide a forum for businesses to learn about public policy, share their perspectives, and engage on issues that impact Texas' economy and competitiveness.
